Rwanda has launched a national digital platform known as Innovate Rwanda designed to connect startups, investors, talent, and ecosystem support organizations across the country, authorities announced on Friday.

Innovate Rwanda digital platform launched to strengthen national innovation ecosystem

In a statement Friday, the Ministry of ICT and Innovation said the platform serves as a central gateway for Rwanda’s innovation ecosystem, eases the process for founders, partners, and investors to discover opportunities, collaborate, and grow innovative ventures,.

The platform is expected to bring together the key actors driving Rwanda’s innovation landscape and improve coordination among programs and partners that support entrepreneurs.

By providing a single home for the ecosystem, according to the ministry, the platform helps ensure that innovators can access the resources, visibility, and networks they need to scale their ideas.

“It will provide innovators and partners with an environment to experiment, collaborate, and develop solutions that address real challenges across digital finance, public services, and cross-border trade,”  The ICT and Innovation Minister said during the launch in Kigali.

The platform enables ecosystem support organizations, including hubs, accelerators, incubators, and capacity-building programs to better coordinate their support for founders.

With the platform, ecosystem support organizations would be able to publish their programs, track startup engagement, and connect with other ecosystem partners working in similar sectors.

According to the ministry, by providing a shared space for visibility and collaboration, Innovate Rwanda reduces fragmentation in the ecosystem and helps organizations align their efforts to support founders more affectively.

For startups, the platform serves as a gateway to opportunities across Rwanda’s innovation ecosystem, while for investors, it provides them with a clearer view of Rwanda’s startup pipeline, according to the ministry.

“Founders can create profiles to showcase their ventures, discover relevant support programs, access funding and partnership opportunities, and connect with ecosystem organizations that can help them grow,” the ministry said.

The ministry underlined that the platform positions Rwanda’s innovation ecosystem to be more connected, visible, and accessible both locally and globally while enabling innovators to access the opportunities and partnerships needed to grow and scale.
