Kagame in Riyadh for Saudi-Arab-African Economic Conference
President Paul Kagame Thursday arrived in Saudi Arabian capital Riyadh for the inaugural Saudi-African Summit taking place at the King Abdulaziz International Conference Center.
The Saudi-Arab-African Economic Conference due Friday is to discuss relations and cooperation opportunities.
Saudi Minister of Finance Mohammed Al-Jadaan said in opening remarks that Saudi Arabia and the African continent "are partners and share a common history and destiny," and the partnership between the two sides is strong and growing at all levels.
The minister said the conference will witness the signing of agreements between the Saudi Fund for Development and a number of African countries on development projects valued at more than two billion Saudi riyals (about $530 million).
Meanwhile, the development institutions of the Arab Coordination Group will announce their tremendous financing programs to support sustainable development in Africa until the year 2030.
