First Lady addresses RPF Women’s League congress
The sixth congress of the Women’s League of the ruling Rwanda Patriotic Front (RPF-Inkotanyi) convened Saturday at the party headquarters in Rusororo, Gasabo District.
The congress was held under the theme: “Empower Her: Shape the Future Generation” in line with Women’s Month in March.
Addressing about 2000 delegates, the First Lady Jeannette Kagame said the meeting convened at a critical moment when the world is undergoing several changes, including evolving international relations and growing security challenges which impact families.
She noted that as Rwanda’s progress continues it calls on women as pillars to rethink their role as the ‘heart of the home’ in building strong families, the basing of national development.
The first party vice president Consolee Uwimana said despite strong current country’s development a lot remains to be done and urged women to play their role along their male counterparts in national development.
